The Scorpion ADX-2 from Scorpion is an adventure helmet that you can use as a system helmet, full-face helmet and off-road helmet. This helmet is tested according to the new ECE 22 06 certification. Besides this certification, the helmet is also P/J certified which means that you can ride with the chin piece up. When you flip up the chin piece the peak goes up with the chin piece and you can even remove the peak quite easily.
The ADX-2 has a suggested retail price of approximately 250 euros. Because of this price, the Scorpion ADX-2 will compete with, among others, the Bell MX-9 Adventure, Icon Variant Pro, Nolan N70-2X and the Airoh Commander.
Material
The outer shell of the ADX-2 is made of polycarbonate and comes in 2 outer shell sizes. If we then weigh the Scorpion ADX-2 in a size L the scale indicates 1834 grams. The Peak of the Scorpion ADX-2 weighs 99 grams, which means that the helmet without the peak weighs 1735 grams!
Visor
The Scorpion ADX-2 we see is Pinlock Lens prepared and a Pinlock Max vision is included. You can place this on the inside of your visor so that your visor will no longer fog up while riding. Also, Scorpion's adventure helmet has a good field of vision and a pretty good visor mechanism. In addition, the ADX-2 also has an integrated sun visor.
Ventilation
On the chin you have an adjustable ventilation opening with above it a ventilation opening that is always open. There is an adjustable ventilation opening on top of the helmet and to let this air out again there is a spoiler behind the helmet. But how did the Scorpion ADX-2 perform on the road?
Comfort
The inner lining is antibacterial, removable and washable . And thanks to the special Kwik-Fit cheekpads, just about all glasses, even with larger frames, fit in this helmet. The helmet of Scorpion is P/J certified so it is possible to ride with the chin bar open if you want. In addition, the Scorpion ADX-2 is prepared for speaker pockets.
Thanks to two easy turn-screws you can easily remove the peak without tools if you want to ride without the peak.
